Our Mission . . . nurture cultural life and support the visual arts
Arts Benicia is the hub of a large community of talented artists in the Bay Area and beyond. Our dynamic exhibition schedule features the work of hundreds of local and Northern California artists, providing opportunities for artists to show and sell their work. For thirty years, we produced high quality exhibitions in a 2,400-square-foot space in the historic Arsenal, acquired in 1993. In January 2022, Arts Benicia moved to the historic Commanding Officer’s Quarters, also in the Arsenal district, featuring nearly 6000 square feet of gallery, classroom, and project space on three floors. See more about the history of this building here.
Arts Benicia offers an exciting year-round schedule of art classes for adults. Subjects include painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, and photography, plus professional development workshops supporting artists. Arts Benicia is supported by membership, grants, sponsorships, and fundraising events. There is no admission charge to see exhibits. Docent-led tours for groups can be arranged by contacting Arts Benicia at 707-747-0131.
