 Arts Benicia’s EcoArt Summer Camp 2017


Calling all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who want to built, sculpt, paint, draw, and collage this summer!


2017 EcoArt Camp 

Grade level: 3 – 5 (graduating 5th graders may attend)

Time: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

2016 session descriptions (2017 sessions may offer different activities):

Session 1 – Tinkering – June 20 – 24 (5 Days)  $185 ($170 AB Members)

Let’s build stuff! Students will unleash their curiosity and creativity – and strengthen their problem-solving skills in this maker’s workshop. Kids will learn about basic tools, simple machines, construction techniques, and building with recycled materials.

Session 2 – Off The Wall – June 27 – July 1 (5 Days) $185 ($170 AB Members)

Kids will sculpt, carve, shape, and mold their own unique three-dimensional creations in this workshop. Materials include papier mâché, wire, clay, paint, and upcycled found objects.

Session 3 – Art Mashup – July 5-8 (4 Days) $175 ($160 AB Members)

During a week of mixed media and materials, kids will get a chance to try their hand at mosaics, printmaking, assemblage, and collage. The perfect workshop for all intrepid artistic explorers!

Session 4 – Cartooning – July 11-15 (5 Days) $185 ($170 AB Members)

Bring aliens and superheroes to life! Drawing inspiration from cartoons, animation, and manga, students will create original characters and develop stories to tell their tale.


Children have a fearless ability to create art–out of anything! So why not use recycled, sustainable, and natural materials? At Arts Benicia’s EcoArt Summer Camp, students will be exposed to diversity in art within a process-based learning environment, creating art with both traditional and non-traditional materials. Classes, led by professional teaching artists, are sure to stimulate and nurture the creative expression of our next generation of artists.

EcoArt Camp is more than just a summer camp, it’s an eco-friendly free-range artistic experience. While discovering their own creativity, students will developing respect for resources and become aware of not just recycling, but reducing consumption of disposable products in everyday life. Classes are sure to stimulate and nurture the creative expression of our next generation of conscientious artists.
