Wait…trees?</span> <span>None in my old black & whites.</span> <span>My previously unknown, buttermilk complexioned cousin</span> <span>found the missing pieces. I thought they were long ago swept into the compost</span> <span>but no, they were hidden in the corners of collapsing barns, a lost shoe, comic strips glued to the walls. Her. Still. Rooted. Generations…</span> <span>Midwest Isolation drove my great grandparents to the west.</span> <span>Cousins stayed.
