Class Description: We will be using a limited palette: oil or water-soluble oil paint. In this six-session online class, we’ll explore how to create an underpainting by drawing with paint and noting the value patterns to create form. We will review the proportions of the head and the structure of individual features… We’ll explore techniques to insure accuracy and develop a toolbox of skills that will allow us to take on one of the most challenging forms of art… The Portrait!
This class will serve beginning and intermediate artists alike!
This class will be offered live online… so you can ask questions, watch demos, paint along and send in your work for critiques. Each class comes with a Vimeo video of the class, so you can watch the class at your convenience, if you should miss the “actual class.” I’ll look forward to having you join this intriguing and exciting journey!
Instructions for accessing the class via Zoom will be provided to registrants prior to the first class meeting.
