Classes will be held in the Mary Farmar multi-purpose room on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. “Secret Agent: Tools of the Trade” meets October 5, 12, and 19. This session takes students on a journey through a world of Morse code, spy scopes, invisible ink, hidden art, and cryptology. In “Two-faced: Masking,” which meets October 26, November 2, and 9, we will focus on sculpting masking to our own faces and then embellishing them with creative flourishes; after which we will celebrate the Day of the Dead with sugar skull masks.
Painting and drawing workshops will be held in the Joe Henderson multi-purpose room on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Session 1 meets October 4, 11, and 18; Session 2 meets October 25, November 1, and 8; and, Session 3 meets November 29, December 6, and 13.
The cost of a three week session is $30 for Arts Benicia Members; $35 Non-Member. Space in our workshops is limited.
Tons of Fun for Kids After School! ABAS offers elementary school students a chance to explore the arts and develop new interests in a fun, supportive environment that encourages creativity and provides opportunities to practice problem-solving skills. ABAS classes are taught by experienced teaching artists.
Next Generation 2018
The Next Generation exhibition is created specifically for Benicia students.
Student artwork ranging from kindergarteners through high school seniors is displayed for a month in the Arts Benicia gallery. Student artists from all Benicia schools, afterschool, and private art education programs are invited to participate.
