You are invited to take part in an Ekphrastic Poetry Reading for the Arts Benicia exhibition Art of a Community 2024
Sunday, February 18, 2-4 p.m. at the Commanding Officer’s Quarters at Arts Benicia.
An ekphrastic poem responds to a work of visual art using the poet’s feelings, imagination, and love of words. Poets may view the artwork in the gallery and sign up to write and read their poem at the event.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the ongoing, productive, and inspiring connection between the visual and verbal arts of our creative community.
This ekphrastic reading is sponsored by Arts Benicia and the Benicia Poet Laureate Kathy Monroe and is free and open to the public.
