Oct 8, PART 2: We will study the prints created in Part 1 and then gather pieces together based on shape, color and design relationships and consider possible compositions. We will then adhere the elements onto heavy paper continuing to add or subtract elements to our compositions in an intuitive and spontaneous process. If desired embellishment can be added such as ink, paint and drawing materials. We will close with a relaxing and fun look at our creations.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ronna Leon studied printmaking at UCSB’s College of Creative Studies. Raised in a family with a small press and publishing business, she has had a life-long love of graphic arts, ink, and paper. She is experienced teaching monotype, etching, collographic and lithographic techniques. She adds to her own skills with new developments in printmaking which she shares with workshop participants. Her own work has been featured in a variety of small exhibitions within the United States and abroad and she has had a solo show at the Benicia Public Library, Marilyn O’Rourke Gallery. For the past ten years she has directed the Printmaker’s Workshop for Arts Benicia.
Dalton has been exhibiting for over thirty years in Bay Area galleries, and is currently represented by Stewart Kummer Gallery in California, and in Santa Fe, Jen Tough Gallery. She has work included in the Crocker Art Museum, the Monterey Art Museum, and corporate collections including Kaiser Permanente. Carol’s work is included in many private collections, locally and abroad. In addition to exhibiting her artwork Carol has taught workshops focusing on “Working Small,” one of her specialties, and has juried exhibits for Jen Tough Gallery and Arts Benicia.
