ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Originally from Chile, Valentina received her Bachelor of Arts in 2007 from the PUC University in Santiago, Chile. After graduating, she traveled to Japan to research Japanese traditional art at Hokkaido University. After her return to Chile, Valentina taught Color Theory at the university and opened a studio in Santiago, where she gave private lessons on drawing and painting. Valentina has shown her work in several exhibitions in the Bay Area as well as in Chile. Valentina’s favorite art mediums are oils and watercolors. She finds inspiration in nature with a special passion for gardens, fruit trees, and farm animals. Chickens appear repeatedly in Valentina’s work as a symbol of nature, motherhood, and abundance. Valentina is currently a studio owner in the city of Benicia, where she gives painting and drawing lessons to all ages.
