Class Description: Introduction to various types of puppets, how they are made, and how to animate them. We will design and build our own puppet theatre and write a class story to perform. Students continuing from Mythical Creatures can include their pieces from that class, if they wish.

Lorraine Curtis is a Californian artist and founder of Art Garage Benicia. Lorraine has over two decades of experience as a teaching artist, fine artist, graphic designer, and illustrator. She attended the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cal East Bay. Lorraine is currently working on her Beautiful People series, a growing body of work of watercolor and mixed-media portraits. “Whether using watercolor, or any variety of media, my intention is to capture the unique essence and beauty of each person.” Lorraine encourages her students to trust their own process and creative journey of self-discovery.
