In Cooperation with Benicia Literary Arts, Arts Benicia announces an open call for art for inclusion in the Carquinez Review, Edition III
Carquinez Review is an anthology dedicated to prose, poetry, and visual art. Edition III will include black and white images of artwork by regional artists. Any media that can be photographed for inclusion in the anthology is eligible. Artwork may be abstract or representational and have any theme.
The publication size will be 9″ H x 6″ W. Allowing for margins, each art piece selected will be on a 9″ x 6″ page in black and white.
Timeline:
The open call begins August 1 and ends October 2, 2023. Submissions received after October 2 will not be reviewed.
Process and Requirements:
- Submitted artwork images will be blind reviewed by a panel of artists selected by Arts Benicia.
- Submitted artwork images must be of original work by the artist.
- Submission of multiple images is permitted, up to four images.
- Publication is scheduled for Spring 2024.

- Send a 300 dpi resolution image in black and white.
- Include your name and artwork title in the file name of the attachment(s).
- In the body of the email, provide the following information:
- Your name
- Artist name as you want it in a publication
- Title of artwork
- Medium
- Date of creation
- Contact information
- If you are submitting more than one image, please send only one email.
Publishing rights:
By submitting, artists grant Benicia Literary Arts permission to publish their work and acknowledge that BLA is currently a non-paying market. Copyright is retained by the artist.
Each contributor will receive one complimentary copy of the issue their artwork appears in.
