ABOUT THE EVENT SPEAKERS
Presenters:
Sandra Shannonhouse is a sculptor. She lives and works in Benicia, California. Since the death of her husband, Robert Arneson, in 1992, she has been the administrator of his estate, overseeing the initial inventory and coordinating all aspects of closing the estate. Now Trustee of the Robert Arneson Trust and Director of the Arneson Archive, she continues to promote the preservation of his legacy, conservation of his work, and scheduling of exhibitions. She has been active in historic preservation efforts in Benicia. She has served on various local boards and was a founding director of the Benicia Education Fund. She joined the Artists’ Legacy Foundation board in 2006, where she serves as Vice-President.
Sushanna Stern worked professionally at the nexus of public art, education, and human rights – partnering with nongovernmental organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and cultural groups. After the passing of her husband Arthur Stern in 2021, she took over managing Arthur Stern Studios Architectural Glass (Benicia) until closing the business in April 2023. Currently, she represents the estate and legacy of Arthur Stern and pursues her work as a creative. Sushanna credits an earlier Arts Benicia-sponsored panel on estate planning with giving her tools to navigate the complex decisions that followed her husband’s passing.
