Class Description: Join instructor Alex Echevarria to explore the fun, intuitive, and experimental monotype printmaking process! The term monotype is used to describe printmaking processes that yield a unique print. There are myriad ways to create monotypes, including direct painting techniques and the use of stencils. All major techniques will be discussed, and the class will focus on the use of stencils as a strategy for creating a series and working with a visual theme to generate relationships between the prints. The process lends itself well to experimentation. All experience levels are welcome in this class. It is not required to prepare anything ahead of time, though if you have images or ideas you would like to explore, you can bring those along with you.
Bring something to eat and drink.
