Class Description: Japanese Stab Binding is one of the most useful methods of simple binding available to create an art book. It elegantly holds together single sheets of paper in a slightly heavier protective cover and back with decorative stitches along the bound edge. This class will teach all the basics for successfully binding using the stab binding method —including some variations on the traditional form. Several binding stitches will be shown. Students will take home a model blank book of their own making at the end of the session. This class is perfect for a beginner in the Book Arts as well as for those with binding experience.
Notes: PLEASE BRING A BAGGED LUNCH. IF YOU ARE A BOOK ARTIST, PLEASE BRING SAMPLES OF YOUR WORK TO SHARE WITH THE CLASS
