Expressions of gender diversity and identity through art and storytelling create an environment where gender diversity becomes relatable, natural, and beautiful. Arts Benicia, a non-profit art center in Benicia, CA, invites artists to submit works for I. We. They. Celebrations of Gender, a juried exhibition of artworks expressing and celebrating ideas of gender as a central theme. Themes to consider include personal journeys.
All media accepted, 2D and 3D, audio and video files. 2D work may not exceed 40” in width or 72” in height, including the frame. 3D work may not exceed a 40” x 40” footprint. Deadline for Entries: Extended — March 21, 2024 (10:59 pm Pacific Time).

Juror
Thea Quiray Tagle, PhD is a Filipinx femme transdisciplinary scholar, writer, and Associate Curator of the Brown Arts Institute and Bell Gallery at Brown University. As an independent curator, Thea’s most recent project was as co-curator of New York Now: Home, the inaugural contemporary photography triennial at the Museum of the City of New York (2023). Her writing on contemporary art and performance has been published in popular and scholarly venues including American Quarterly, ASAP/J, BOMB Magazine, and Hyperallergic. Prior to joining Brown University, she was a professor of queer studies, ethnic studies, and visual studies at institutions including the University of Massachusetts Boston, the University of Washington Bothell, and SFAI.
