The 5 x 5 for Arts Benicia Exhibition & Fundraiser brings original small artwork to the public with a four-day exhibit at the Blackbird Gallery in Benicia of consigned and/or donated artworks.
Both 2D (5-inch x 5-inch) and 3D (5-inch x 5-inch x 5-inch) artworks will be created by artists from the region and beyond and sold to raise funds to support Arts Benicia’s ongoing programs. Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public. Each piece will be sold for $50, with a 50% commission paid to the artist.
Artists may choose to make a 100% donation of any sales proceeds and the artwork. Artworks will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and can be taken home after purchase.
Eligibility: Anyone is eligible to enter.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee.
Medium: All media, 2D or 3D works.
Size: All artwork must fit within a 5″ x5″ x 5″ space.
Call for artwork:
Artists are invited to submit up to three original artworks of 2D or 3D varied media: paintings, prints, photographs, mixed media and digital works.
2D art must meet the 5″ x 5″ dimension, be wired or prepared to hang from a hook or nail.
3D art must conform to 5″ x 5″ x 5″.
All entries meeting requirements will be accepted, unless they do not conform to standards of cleanliness and good repair.
Artists may choose to allow unsold artwork to become the property of Arts Benicia, to be offered for sale in the Gift Shop or at another fundraiser; or to have their work returned via a Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope provided at the time of drop-off or shipping.
Completion of the submission form indicates the artist’s acknowledgement of exhibition requirements, sale price, and commission percentage, if chosen. Artists are responsible for valuing their own work for tax purposes.
