Part of Arts Benicia’s Art Talks … and Timely Conversations Series:

Event Description: Are AI image generators a new aide to human creativity or a threat? Something to be
curious or worried about? Recently developed image-generators such as Dall-E 2, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney can produce images from any prompt in seconds. AI image generators digest huge numbers of images with their related text – generally from the internet — to “understand” their content and enabling them to create new images from a prompt. The digested images include the work of artists and other creators, most of whom are unaware their content has been used in this way. Is it art? How is it different from the work of humans? What are the implications for traditional artists? What are the legal implications of works that are created using intellectual property owned by others? Arts Benicia presents a timely conversation with Jack Kolk and Terry Scott about the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of art.

ABOUT THE EVENT SPEAKERS

(ACR2) and owner of Accreditation Helper dba Compliance Helper, his businesses help other companies to achieve privacy and information security compliance and maintain awareness of technology developments such as artificial intelligence and its impact on information integrity.
