Art Solano celebrates the arts and artists of Solano County, of all 2D and 3D visual media, and video. Open to all artists in Solano County and to artists whose main art studio resides in Solano County. Cities in Solano County include Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Suisun City, Rio Vista, Vacaville, Vallejo, and CDP’s Allendale, Hartley, and Green Valley.
We invite Solano County artists to submit entries for this exhibition.
Deadline for Entries: August 2, 2026 (11:59 pm Pacific Time)
Jurying of entries: August 4-15, 2026
Notification to artists: August 18, 2026
Hand Delivery of artwork: October 1-2, 2026, 1-4 pm
Delivery of shipped artwork: September 28-October 2, 2026 (no later than October 2)
Members and Exhibition Artists Preview: Thursday, October 22, 2026, 6 – 7 pm
Opening Public Reception: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 4 – 6 pm
Close of exhibition: Sunday, December 20, 2026
In Person Pick-up of Artwork: December 22, 2026, 1 – 4 pm (or by appt)
Return Shipped Artwork: begins December 22, 2026
All 2D and 3D media and video accepted. 2D work may not exceed 36” in width or 72” in height, including the frame. 3D work may not exceed a 36” x 36” footprint. Please contact staff regarding installations or works with special size requirements. Works shown previously at Arts Benicia are not eligible.
Juror, Glen Helfand
Glen Helfand is a writer, critic, curator, and professor in the Graduate Fine Arts Program at California College of the Arts. His writing about art, culture, and design has appeared in Artforum, Aperture, The Guardian, Photograph, SFMOMA Open Space, W, and many other publications and exhibition catalogs. He has organized exhibitions for the de Young Museum, the San Jose Museum of Art, the San Francisco Art Institute, the Mills College Art Museum, Art Toronto, the San Francisco Main Library, and numerous alternative and commercial galleries.
